VISION
I’m not really interested in making money or fame from this book (or any other one). I just want to share, and have some hope that others may be inspired by the messages of Gandhi or the contradictions in my own life. I would love it if the publication of this book inspired at least one person to pilgrimage: to more clearly see their motion through their world as holy, and to walk carefully and lightly to their destination.
I am particularly excited for high school and college students to read it, and am more than willing to respond to questions or even engage in conversation if I’m nearby.
And as always, I like to use our shared human activities — eating, building, buying, and selling among them — as opportunities to experiment with different ways of seeing and living in the world. To finance the book I asked for investors to contribute 101 each towards in printing, and was able to offer each of them up to 10 books to given to their friends and communties. In this way, we jointly financed the printing of 1000 copies of “sometimes we walk alone”, and immediately distributed more than 400 of them as well.
In a similar spirit, I open to your ideas about how this book might be shared (”marketed”) and offered in your communities.
Eventually, I have no doubt, we will share a world whose systems rely upon a firm foundation of love and understanding. It is what we are all working towards, a consciousness of our interdependence and the join that awareness must bring.
